Laura Toth grew up in Hawaii but has called Saint Paul home for the past 10 years. She paints in oils and acrylics, and makes hand-turned writing pens. She is entirely self-taught.
In her paintings, Laura loves documenting the dynamic aspect of city life, with much of her work depicting scenes captured in and around the Twin Cities. She also loves to travel, so a number of her paintings are from other cities around the world and island scenes from her home state of Hawaii.
Laura recently began creating pens, and found that she enjoys the unique challenges of this three-dimensional art form. Her pens are made of unique and often locally gathered materials (Mississippi River driftwood, North Shore pine cones) and also exotic woods and materials from Hawaii. Each pen is an individual work of art.
