DeAnne L Parks creates paintings, sculptures and installations, using paint, clay, paper and other objects to express themes related to spirituality and human relationships. Creating chaos on the surface with no clear plan of the outcome, paint drips uncontrolled and pigments separate as she adds layer upon layer. In time, an image is revealed and rises above the textured turmoil, conveying messages of hope, community and concern for social justice to the viewer.
DeAnne's work has been published internationally in calendars, magazines, Bible studies and on book, CD and DVD covers and is held in corporate and private collections. Past exhibitions include The Basilica of St Mary, Central Lutheran, Hopkins Center for the Arts and Artistry in Minneapolis. In addition, she has exhibited at Luther Seminary, Central Presbyterian in St Paul and at The Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, Wisconsin.
DeAnne is a full time working artist and her studio is located in the Midway Triangle Building, 2500 University Avenue in the Midway area of St Paul. For more on DeAnne and her work visit www.artdeanne.com or contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org
